Marking the beginning of April Autism Awareness month, North Carolina legislators are attempting to make a difference in lives of literally thousands of families touched by autism.
What is called Bill 498, was read in the state house on Wednsday, and although it's still unclear what the future of the proposed legislation might be, the chances of the proposal passing through the system are pretty high.
Families affected by autism have to deal with enormous costs of medical treatment and autism associated therapies that more than often don't get insurance coverage. In many cases, families end up with thousands of dollars debts on their credit cards, and face a painful dilemma.
Statesmen of North Carolina are attempting to change that. The proposal calls for state interferance in assuring much needed financial coverage for autism - a decisions that can save literally thousands of lives. Remember - eighty children get diagnosed with autism in the States every day, and the number goes over a hundred on the world wide scale.
