Formed at the tail end of 2013, MadFro is setting its sights on 2014 - - - and you.

Fronted by New Orleans' own and the “Connoisseur of Fine Rhyme” - Slangston Hughes, MadFro is a super-group consisting of former members of the NOLA bands xDefinition, AbPsych, Purvis, and Fo On the Flo.

Joining Hughes is William Creppell on bass, Troy Dearmon on drums, and Orlando Da Silva on guitar - what this four-some has created is their own unique blend of funk, rock, and hip-hop influenced by the likes of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fishbone, Public Enemy, Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, and Jimi Hendrix.

And this Friday night, January 17, the only place for you to be in New Orleans is the Hi-Ho Lounge for MadFro's official release party for their brand spanking new CD, I.F.W.I.

The festivities begin at 8 P.M. and there will be additional performances by spoken word artist/'12 Tennessee Williams Literary Festival winner Jonathan Brown, NOLA rapper Mr. E, and hardcore rap/metal funk mash-up Rejected.Youth.Nation.
