Perfect World Entertainment today released a new trailer for its upcoming 4th expansion, “Tyranny of Dragons”, to the Cryptic Studios developed, “Dungeons & Dragons” inspired free-to-play MMORPG, “Neverwinter”, highlighting the new playable class that will be available when the expansion launches next month, the Scourge Warlock.

The Scourge Warlock will be the newest addition to the playable classes of “Neverwinter”, and unlike their counterparts, the Scourge Warlock’s power comes from a darker place. Scourge Warlocks are powerful spellcasters that have made a bargain with Dark Patrons. They are powerful damage dealers that focus on particular foes and use Curses to deal devastating blows to their enemies.

Players who choose to use this new class will be able to choose from three possible feat trees, Fury, Damnation and Temptation, which will each allow for a different playing experience. Fury Scourge Warlocks use fire and death, cursing enemies and then destroying them with powerful spells. A Damnation Scourge Warlock controls a Soul Puppet to empower themselves, eventually making the puppet a permanent part of their arsenal, since having the Soul Puppet active makes the Warlock a much more potent combatant that can destroy enemies at various distances. The Temptation Scourge Warlock binds the souls of their enemies and their allies to steal life force from the enemy and heal allies, while also commanding several auras that will bolster nearby allies or weaken nearby enemies.

The new trailer as well as screenshots (available in the slideshow), highlighting the Scourge Warlock, can be found on the left. Gamers can look for the Scourge Warlock to be available to all players when the “Tyranny of Dragons” expansion for “Neverwinter” launches on August 14, 2014, along with a variety of new features and story to play through.
