Ben Harper, Mickey Hart and Ray Wylie Hubbard are among the newest names to join the “Songs After Sandy” three-volume digital music relief effort on Pledge Music that includes Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, it was announced Wednesday.
The collection is to raise funds for hurricane relief through on-the-ground charities including Restore Red Hook, Occupy Sandy and Green Ground Zero. Ringo Starr is featured on two tracks on Volume 1, while Paul McCartney donated a track for Volume 2.
The roster of artists for Volume 3 now includes the Cush, Arborea, Red Hook Brooklyn’s City Billies, Gangstagrass and Tone Johanasen, Luluc, Romantica, Tom Freund. Amy Speace, Ben Arthur, Davy Knowles and Antje Duvelot, with some additional guest tracks to still be added.
In addition to the downloads on Volume 3 (track list below), Ben Harper has offered a signed poster from his recent sold-out performance at Carnegie Hall and Mickey Hart has offered a signed drum head. In addition, Russell Brand is auctioning two tickets to an upcoming taping and meet-and-greet at Brand's “Brand X” show in Los Angeles through Charity Buzz www.charitybuzz.com.
