New music: Swedish pop singer Vanbot returns with 'Hold This Moment' single

After making a splash in the music scene in 2011 with her self-titled album, Swedish pop singer Vanbot finally returned with “Hold This Moment” on Monday. She further explores the electro-pop genre on her new single, but gives it a dark twist this time around.

Vanbot (real name: Ester Ideskog) and music partner Sebastian Forslund released her self-titled electronic album in 2011, which drew a lot of comparisons to the work of fellow Swede singer Robyn. Following her perky debut, she put out another single last year, but remained hush afterword. With a new album on the horizon later this year, Vanbot dropped “Hold This Moment,” which previews her now “dark and brooding” sound.

“Hold This Moment” is a gloomy dance track with bold synths backing Vanbot's light croon, describing how crazy she is for a guy. Her vocals become a declaration during the song's inescapable chorus when she digs deep to sings, “I just found out I want you so badly.” Her thirst for love is loud and clear on this spellbinding single.

Vanbot's second album is due for release later this year.
