New music: Hoodie Allen cooks up some fun in 'Cake Boy' music video

Indie rapper Hoodie Allen dropped the music video for his new song, “Cake Boy,” on Monday. In the colorful clip, he runs a cupcake service with some sexy co-workers.

“Cake Boy” previews Allen's upcoming album, “Crew Cuts.” Over a simple machine beat, he boasts about his good track record with the ladies. In a very Hoodie fashion, he references tons of pop culture, likening himself to Seth Cohen from “The OC” and calling out the “Instagram models,” in his smooth rhymes. Rihanna gave us “Birthday Cake” last year and Allen serves up some slickness on “Cake Boy” this time around.

The “Cake Boy” music video was directed by Jakob Owens and fellow indie rapper D-WHY. In the colorful clip, Hoodie rides in a cupcake truck to serve his very hungry customers. While cooking up some treats, he also has fun with his crew of attractive women. Hoodie has his cake and eats it too.

“Cake Boy” was released to iTunes on Monday. His self-released "All American" EP hit the top 10 of Billboard's albums chart last year. Hoodie's upcoming record, “Crew Cuts,” will be released for free on Feb. 20.
