New music books hit local Libraries

Local Michiana St. Joseph County Public Library has been inundated with any number of biographys and tell-alls about your favorite musical acts. Let's take a closer look at some of the newest and most interesting.

  • A new tome by Mark Evans, 'Dirty Deeds - My life inside / outside of AC/DC' hit bookshelves this week. The new tell all is published by Bazillion Points the imprint of author, DJ, metal historian Ian Christe. Christe, author of 'Sound of the Beast', self published the back story from a supporting member of the beloved Australia band.
  •  Also new to library shelves is Duff McKagan's 'It's so easy and other lies' from the founding member of Guns and Roses as well as super group Velvet Revolver. McKagan, a columnist for SeattleWeekly, Playboy as well as ESPN, centers his publication on the drug culture that surrounded the band and it's members, notably Axl Rose of course.

  • Tony Iommi has authored 'Iron Man - My journey through Heaven and Hell with Black Sabbath. The renowned guitarist imparts his days with the infamous hard rock / heavy metal band.
  • Yet another book about The Rolling Stones front man, Jagger - Rebel, Rock Star, Rambler, Rouge. Written by Marc Spitz, it rehashes the now familiar subject of Jagger's heyday. See also 'Life' by Keith Richards for more Rolling Stones dishing.
  • 'Trust me, I'm Dr. Ozzy - Advice from Rock's ultimate survivor' by none other than Ozzy Osbourne is also available. Co-written by Chris Ayers, who gets no credit on the cover jacket of the book, most likely did the bulk of the actual writing.

  • Ace Frehley - No regrets, by the former KISS guitarist.

  • Everybody loves our town - An oral history of Grunge by Mark Yarm.
  • Pearl Jam Twenty authored by the band.
  • Lady Gaga (photobook) by Terry Richardson.
