New museum exhibit: Frida Kahlo Through the Lens of Nickolas Muray

One of the new temporary exhibits opening at the Tucson Museum of Art on Saturday, Janaury 28, 2012 is the "Frida Kahlo: Through the Lens of Nickolas Muray" exhibit.  This exhibit provides a photographic perpective on Frida Kahlo, a famous Mexican female artist.  This exhibit is expected to remain on display through June 3, 2012.

The "Frida Kahlo: Through the Lens of Nickolas Muray" exhibit features portraits of Frida Kahlo taken by her lover and friend Nickolas Muray between 1937 and 1941.  In the exhibit are about 50 photos including ones in color as well as black and white.  The exhibit is a traveling one from the Nickolas Muray Archives in Alta, Utah.

About the Tucson Museum of Art: This Tucson Museum of Art is located at 140 N. Main Avenue, Tucson, AZ.  The hours are 10am to 6pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday; 10am to 8pm on Thursday; and 12pm to 6pm on Sunday.  Admission is $8 for general, $6 for seniors (60+), $3 for students (13+), and free for members, children 12 and under, and active military with ID.  The first Sunday of every month is free for everyone.
