It looks as though New Moon will well exceed box office sales of Twilight. For opening night, theaters across the nation have been packed with New Moon fans, and the internet buzz on how box office sales are doing is hot today. Fans want to know if box office sales are as good as they think the movie is.
The first movie, Twilight brought in $69.6 million in its opening weekend. New Moon is projected to do $85 to $100 million during opening weekend, which includes prior ticket sales and sales through Sunday.
Friday morning, advance ticket sales at MovieTickets.com listed New Moon as their number one advance ticket seller of all time, breaking the Star Wars Episode III record.
The Twilight cast has been heavily promoting this movie all over the country this week in a hope to make this a record breaking weekend in ticket sales. Different cast members have been on The Ellen Show all week long as well as Live with Regis and Kelly...they have been everywhere.
New Moon has been met with mixed reviews, and this seems to depend on if the critic was a fan prior to the release of New Moon. If they were, New Moon gets great reviews. If the writer didn’t see Twilight or at least have some knowledge of the book series, then the reviews have been bad.
