By now it's no surprise that the Monster Hunter series is slow to change, and for many, that's a good thing. But for everyone else, it's good to see a steady stream of content constantly being poured into the PC gaming juggernaut that is Monster Hunter Frontier, and soon, Monster Hunter Frontier G.
Released just earlier today (2/15), the new trailer shows off tons of new monsters along with some old and even gives us our first look at some nighttime maps. In terms of new monsters it looks like MHFG will be receiving a bigger, fire spewing version of the wolf monsters from the MHF update a while back along with plenty others.
Bipedal, MHTri inspired, snow dwelling Deviljho-like creatures will be making an appearance alongside one of the goofier looking wyverns to date: A swordfish-faced, Rath build, and even a Walrusdrome (yes, that's right).
Monster design choices have always been hit or miss with Capcom and the team behind the multi-million dollar franchise, but one thing remains certain: The game is hella fun and this update looks like it won't disappoint in that aspect even in the slightest.
Keep in mind that this remains a Japan only release. Now all we have to do is hope Monster Hunter gets with the program and releases a free to play version for the West. But based on their track record, it's probably not something to hold our breath over.
