Another rumor has appeared in regards the release date of for the three upcoming ports of "Minecraft." According to a report from The Epoch Times on Aug. 6, a fan was able to acquire a printout of the release schedule for the Xbox One. Among the software products was "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" with a launch date of Aug. 19.
The release date seems very plausible when taking into considerations several factors. The first was a statement that was made by Mojang as the original creator announced that all three ports are going to come out sometime this month. The Aug. 19 release date also takes place on a Tuesday, which is when a vast majority of new software products are launched in the North American region.
"Minecraft PS4 Edition" and "Minecraft Vita Edition" should be coming out at around the same time as well. 4J Studios, the company responsible for all of the console ports, have been working on all three upcoming version in addition to keeping the PS3 and Xbox 360 games updated with new patches and DLC packs. The heavy load may have caused the initial delays of the three ports.
"Minecraft Xbox One Edition" and "Minecraft PS4 Edition" were expected to be launch window titles for the two new consoles that came out in late 2013. However, the two games ended up being delayed by nearly a year. The development team is adding several new features that may have extended the production time. The new elements include a better draw distance, higher resolution and the ability to import saves from other console versions.
The PS4 and Xbox One iterations appear to be the best of the console releases from the open-world sandbox game. Players who already owned the PS3, Vita and Xbox 360 games can upgrade to the next-generation iterations for $4.99 for a limited time as opposed to paying the standard $19.99.
