This morning, Apple announced the iPhone 5S. The new iPhone looks almost identical to the iPhone 5, but with some key internal differences. It has a new dual-LED flash camera on the back. It has a 64-bit A7 processor and a fingerprint sensor. Oh, how exciting!! Apple also announced a lower-cost iPhone 5C. There isn't anything significant to talk about there.
Remember when new iPhone announcements used to dominate the Internet. Well, that isn't the case anymore. The new Miley Cyrus video "Wrecking Ball" is out and even though it is being criticized, it is breaking all types of viewing records. The video, which features Miley as a near-naked construction worker, is pretty boring (although the song is good). But a boring Miley record is still outdoing a brand new iPhone announcement in hype.
We cannot count Apple out. The Retina MacBook Pro is still the best laptop around. The iPad is still the best selling tablet. But you would think they could come up with something better in the smartphone category. What do you think? Are we being too hard on Apple? Are you going to buy the new iPhone 5S?
