New merged oceans go live amidst swarm of bugs

Cerulean, Meridian and Emerald have launched -- but sail carefully, me hearties, for these seas are awash with bugs.

Despite several reboots this morning, word has it that technical issues yet abound. The devs are hard at work duking it out even now. OceanMaster Galene has posted a large but non-exhaustive list of the most common issues. A quick summary (for full details see Galene's post):

  • Battle frays knocking entire teams out early -- have only the ship owner file a petition and leave it open if this happens

  • Booched duty reports despite mad skillz

  • Parlor games failing to start, wagers temporarily frozen, users stuck. "We're hopeful at this time that after we resolve these issues and reboot the servers, these frozen wagers will be released to their correct owners. This will not be the case for legitimate wager losses! This is only for those whose puzzle failed to start."

  • Reclienting causing a failure to fully log off the pirate, preventing that pirate from logging back in even after rebooting. Galene is running a few unrated, random seed drinking tournaments, with mugs provided, to keep your alts busy while you wait for your main to be able to log back in again.

  • Zombies, skellies refusing to accept your wagers

  • Mini-map failing to load -- you'll have to walk the island manually, including to the docks. Use the Wiki to navigate if you need to.

Update: Galene is updating this post, striking out bug items as the devs squish 'em. As of now (Wed. Feb. 1 3:30 PM) the only items remaining are the ones to do with parlor games and zombies/skellies.

Keep an eye on the Server Status thread -- clicking here will take you to the last page as of right now (as the thread gets longer, it will take you to the penultimate page, then the antepenultimate page, etc). Until Galene posts some sort of resolution to these bugs, it is recommended that you stick to safe activities that won't sink your ship or lose your poker wager.
