New meme: Will the Angelina Jolie leg-pop at Academy Awards replace Tebowing?

The now famous meme, ‘Tebowing,’ named after Bronco’s quarterback Tim Tebow’s practice of kneeling in prayer, may have competition thanks to a bizarre pose struck by actress Angelina Jolie during the 2012 Academy Awards.

Appearing shockingly thin, the 36-year-old Jolie struck what seemed a practiced pose several times during the evening.  On the red carpet, the actress stopped, placed her left hand on her hip, and then popped her right leg from the slit of her black Atelier Versace dress.

She repeated the move later, when Jolie appeared on stage to give the award for Best Adapted Screenplay for ‘The Descendants.’

The Jolie ‘Leg-Pop’ didn’t go unnoticed.  When ‘The Descendants’ writers Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon, and Jim Rash accepted their awards, Rash struck the pose, imitating Jolie.  In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Rash said, "Honestly, as soon as I saw her pose like that, I was like, I'm going to do that.”

The Angelina Jolie 'Leg-Pop' quickly gained traction on Twitter with #AngiesRightLeg.  A sampling of tweets:

"A lamp shade would go really nice at the very top @angiesrightleg, don't you think?"
“Angie-ing ... the best pose ever. I gotta practice it everyday. LOL"
