Scarlett Johannsen has returned for a 4th round of MANGO ads. The sultry starlet (newly separated from hubby Ryan Reynolds), poses alluringly in pastel and patterned clothing on location at La Ricarda House in Barcelona. The images are shot by famed fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti. The Spring 2011 line, called Modernist Resort, will be available at New York's MANGO. Try the SOHO store at 561 Broadway.
The work of two fashion photographers will be published in book form this spring. Phillip- Lorca diCorcia: Eleven, W Stories 1997-2008 will be released in February, published by Freedman Damiani. There will also be an exhibition at David Zwirner Gallery from February 10th to March 5th of this year. Mr. diCorcia's documentary style fashion photographs have appeared in major magazines spanning the globe. His lush work is a feast.
Yelena Yemchuk will be presenting her photographs from Gidropark, a sort of resort park located in her native Ukraine. The book is being published by Freedman Damiani, a new imprint of the publishing company Damiani Editore seeking to produce high end volumes of fashion and art photographs. Shot on 35mm film, the work has a grainy, reportage feel reminiscent of Robert Frank's groundbreaking work The Americans. The book will be released in April, with an exhibition at the Gitterman Gallery from May 6th to July 16th of this year.
New designers will be debuting at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center this year. In addition to an already glittering lineup, new stars Christian Cota, Elene Cassis, and Sachin + Babi will be presenting collections. In addition, denim retailer G Star Raw and the womenswear duo Calulla Lillibelle will show.
