New Zealand is one of the top countries, in the Southern Hemisphere that is presently enjoying summer, while the Northern Hemisphere bemoans the cold weather we are experiencing. But regardless of the season in New Zealand the outdoors is a major part of every day life - walking, hiking, biking, skiing, water activities, food and wine festivals, touring, star gazing - the seasons determine the current activities.

At Annadale activities are a large part of what they offer. With the opening of the coastal luxury Villas along the spectacular coastline at Pigeon Bay, guest can also enjoy a 4000 acre sheep and cattle farm, owned by Mark & Jacqui Palmer. Consisting of

(a) The Homestead a luxurious five bedroom home, in a tranquil setting

(b) opposite the Homestead is the original stables where the upstairs have a spacious two bedroom loft that sleeps four

(c) Seascape a picturesque private bay where the ultra-modern, romantic retreat for couples gives sightings of frolicking dolphins and seals, and star laden nights

(d) Shepherd's Cottage, peeched on a historic hilltop; and

(e) the cedar clad beach house on Scrubby Bay, perfect for gatherings of 14 people.

Apart from the lovely accommodations, the privacy, and tranquility, there is lots of activities to keep everyone happy - mountain biking, kayaking, paddle-boarding, a WD tour of the farm where those who wish can help with the mustering of the sheep and cattle, sailing, fishing, a nature cruise to see native wild life which just might include a sighting of the famed "Hector's dolphins". Other activities can be found in the nearby town of Akaroa which is only 30 minutes away, nestled in the center of an extinct volcano, it's streets are lined with cafes, bistros, and quirky shops.

Guests fly into Christchurch, on New Zealand's South Island, only a two hour drive from Annandale. On arrival at the Villas they are given a map of the farm with details of the tracks and many places of interest. They also choose their dining options which include "we cater, you cook" packages; a private chef experience; or just having their pantry stocked with pre-ordered selections.

Rates are quoted in New Zealand dollars and can be found here where one can also make a reservation.
