From Aug. 30, 2013 to Sept. 1, 2013 Wizards of the Coast is selling Fblthp "Magic: The Gathering" plushies at PAX Prime for $15. This is the first official "Magic" stuffed animal produced by the company. According to a tweet by Elaine Chase, the Fblthp plushies are only available in "limited quantities" and "he needs your love!"
Who's Fblthp? Why only one of the most cherished recent characters from the game, appearing on the recent "Gatecrash" card Totally Lost. You can read more about Fblthp's misadventures in further detail in this article by Matt Tabak.
Fblthp had always hated crowds
Don't you just want to snuggle up with Fblthp? He's so cute.
This Fblthp stuffed animal is the perfect item for parents to give children, and is like buying a gift for yourself. Let's face it: Parents justify purchasing "Star Wars" legos because "it's a gift." We all know the real reason: So they can build and play with it themselves. Is FBlthp really that different?
We adore this product offering, however are concerned with just how limited it will be. Remember the exclusive planeswalkers from the San Diego Comic Con? They're already up to a pretty penny on the secondary market, and it's likely that this new Fblthp plushie will follow suit. Seems like a missed opportunity for an item that could easily appear in mass market stores, or at the very least be sold through www.mtgmerch.com.
