Movie fans in Scottsdale are waiting for the release of "Safe Haven" to theaters. On Tuesday, Feb. 12, Collider shared a new interview with Josh Duhamel about the film. Getty Images also shared new photos of the actor at an event held promoting the film on Tuesday as well. Check out the new photos by visiting the slide show. "Safe Haven" is the latest novel adaptation coming to the big screen from one of Nicholas Sparks' novels. Josh Duhamel stars in the film as Alex. His character is a man that is raising two children on his own after the death of his wife. During the film, he will meet Katie, who is played by Julianne Hough. She is running from her own past, but she ends up attracted to the man. Duhamel said the following about starring in this latest Sparks' novel adaptation, according to Collider:
"You’re inevitably going to get compared to The Notebook or Dear John, or some of the other ones that have been really successful. I tried not to think about that, making this. We knew what the movie was. We didn’t want to fall into the same traps. There’s always going to be these threads of familiarity, but we wanted to make this our own story, so we forgot about the idea that it was a Nicholas Sparks movie and just went off and made the story that was on the page and our interpretation of it, and let it be what it was going to be."
The actor also revealed during the interview that he had originally turned down the project, but after a new script was brought to him he changed his mind. There had been changes made to the character that he felt improved the project.

Scottsdale residents will be able to see this film at the Harkins Scottsdale Fashion Square 7 or at another local theater in the area starting Thursday.
