New Jersey heavy metal band Seven Witches is in the process of wrapping up the proceedings for the band’s ninth studio album set to be released later this year, which will be entitled “The Rebirth”. It will be released via FrostByte Media, an imprint of eOne, which released Overkill’s latest album in 2012.
Seven Witches has featured some prestigious vocal alumni from the New Jersey heavy metal scene over the years. The band was formed by guitarist Jack Frost in 1998 after his band at the time, Frost Bite, played a show opening for Fates Warning. Also on that bill was Morbid Sin, with vocalist Bobby Lucas.
Frost was impressed with Lucas’ performance, and the two discussed the idea of forming a band, which led to the formation of Seven Witches, including two other members of Morbid Sin. Lucas released two albums with the band before moving on.
Seven Witches released one album with Wade Black and two with Helstar vocalist James Rivera before partnering with another New Jersey voice, Alan Tecchio of Hades. Tecchio was with the band for two albums before the band reunited with James Rivera.
The vocal duties are now being handled by Anthony Cross. Coincidentally, Cross briefly sang with Attacker after the band parted ways with vocalist Bob Mitchell. Attacker is now fronted, of course, by Bobby Lucas. Cross was the vocalist of the debut album of Fischel’s Beast, “Commencement”, in 2009.
