This poor girl has been living on her own for two years. Local animal lovers have been feeding her all this time and would love to find her a rescue or good home. They have named her Patta.
“She is an adult female pit bull type dog who was abandoned in a New Jersey neighborhood almost two years ago. We believe she was someone's dog because she is wearing a collar with a microchip tag on it. A concerned neighbor contacted the Princess Buttercup Foundation ("PBF") for advice on what could be done for the poor dog.”
“Apparently nobody has been able to catch "Patta" because she runs away when people try to lasso her with a leash. One neighbor has been able to pet her, but she seemed to have forget what it was like to be petted. A few people in the neighborhood are all taking part in providing fresh food and water for "Patta" so she doesn't starve, but what can be done to protect "Patta" from getting sick or injured or finding a warm, dry shelter?”
The group, Princess Buttercup Foundation, is looking for a foster home where Patta can settle in and learn to be a dog again. PBF wil underwrite all vet and upkeep.
Interested parties, please contact PBF at info@princessbuttercupfoundation.org or call Valerie at (856)956-9920.
More and more families are abandoning their pets as these stories emerge every moment. As PBF Director Valerie Paster eloquently puts it, “Imagine yourself as a dog. Imagine watching your owners pack up all their belongings. They take you by the collar and walk you over to the front door. They bring you outside and let go of your collar. They tell you, "Goodbye." As your owners turn away from you, they walk over to their car and get in it and drive away.”
“You sit and watch them drive away. You're all alone, confused, and hope that they will turn the car around and let you jump in for the ride. But, instead you are forced to fend for yourself outside in the heat and cold and through the rain and snow. You are forced to find your own shelter to keep warm and dry. Did they even think how you would eat? Or, did they think someone would see her outside and just bring her home?”
Luckily for Patta, Princess Buttercup Foundation has stepped in to help, but the group and Patta need help. A foster will save this beautiful dog who would never make it in the animal control system.
