The New Jersey Devils announced this afternoon that 37-year-old defenseman Marek Zidlicky will rejoin the club for a fourth season this coming Fall. Per club policy, the details of the contract signed between Zidlicky and the Devils were not immediately made available.

Zidlicky was originally acquired by New Jersey from Minnesota on February 24, 2010 and has since tallied 18 goals and 51 assists for 69 points and 108 penalty minutes in 151 games as Devil. Last season Zidlicky led the Devils with eight power play goals, 18 power play points and 60 penalty minutes while collecting a total of 42 points in 81 game as the team's top-scoring blueliner.

The signing takes the Czech defenseman off of the market a month before he would have become an unrestricted free agent. Mark Fayne and Adam Larsson remain the two Devils defenseman without contracts. Larsson,21, finished his three-year entry-level contract which he signed back in 2011, making him a restricted free agent this summer.

Other free agents from the 2012-2013 Devils' roster still include Ryan Carter, Steve Bernier, Stephen Gionta and Martin Brodeur. Jacob Josefson joins Larsson as a restricted free agent.
