Update: A new iPhone release date rumor has many Apple smart phone enthusiasts sounding off on technology sites. Supposedly, the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is at or about the same time as the iPhone 5s or 6 release dates. While neither company has confirmed the latest buzz, many credible prognosticators say to expect devices in summer 2013 and early 2014.
According to a Mar. 4 report from IBTimes, the Note is set for a launch around the end of the second quarter, which ends on June 30. With the new iPhone release date, according to tech geeks, slated for the same time period, a potential smart phone war is in the cards.
Obviously, both companies have little or no love for the other, as evidenced by a string of ongoing patent showdowns in court. However, should the smartphone makers both launch their products at the same time, it would be unprecedented.
Typically, brass at Samsung and Apple pay careful attention to treading on the other's launch dates; it's just common courtesy and marketing strategy. In practice, the other goes before or after with some considerable gaps in between, just to have all eyes on their particular product.
Just like you're not likely to see a simultaneous launch of "Iron Man" and "Batman," it's unlikely that a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date will take place while Apple junkies are camped out in Times Square waiting for the iPhone 6 and 5s.
According to a report on Sunday from Huffington Post, Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities and Jeremy Horwitz of iLounge, two known Apple in-the-know techies, claim that June or July could see a new iPhone release date of its latest products.
With the possibility of adding colors to the aluminium, it may be worth waiting for the new Apple iPhones.
