New iPad Air 2 production of components increase as suppliers confirm the likelihood of an iPad launch in a few weeks, according to a Sep. 2 report in DigiTimes. The iPad Air 2 is expected to be thinner and lighter with a faster A8 processor, higher-end camera, Touch ID and possibly more RAM.
Besides iPad Air suppliers who provide full-lamination units, iPhone 6 display suppliers also are ramping up production as Apple prepares for the iPhone 6 to hit the market probably a week after the iPhone 6 unveils. Apple officially announced that the company will reveal the iPhone 6 on Sep. 9 at the Flint Center, near Apple's headquarters.
China Mobile is already taking pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and is not waiting for Apple's official presentation of the company's new flagship mobile device. China Mobile is the biggest carrier in the world by subscriber numbers (800 million).
China Mobile is not releasing photos of the new iPhone 6. However, China Mobile is revealing the iPhone 6 comes in a 4.7-inch size and a 5.5-inch size, confirming earlier leaks. The iPhone 5s has a 4-inch display. Both iPhone 6 models come in in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage sizes.
So far, after less than one day, there are 33,000 iPhone 6 pre-orders in Bejing along, according to China Daily. iPhone 6 pre-orders are limited to the city of Bejing only. Last year, China Mobile offered the same advanced pre-order option with iPhone 5s.
The iPhone 6 includes a faster A8 processor, the successor to the current motion coprocessor chip, iOS 8, upgraded Touch ID (a feature the iPad Air 2 should also be getting this fall), a better camera and more. Moreover, there are rumors that the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will also come in a 128GB model.
