An interesting new bit of casting information for "Insidious Chapter 2" reveals where the film's plot could go, Variety announced on Monday.
Jocelin Donahue has joined the cast of James Wan's sequel to his surprisingly successful 2010 haunted house film. She will be playing a young Lorraine Lambert, who was played originally by Barbara Hershey. With the difference in age one can assume that this new film will explore what happened to Patrick Wilson's character when he was a young boy, possibly through flashbacks, as this was hinted at in the first film.
Donahue made a splash in Ti West's slow-burn masterpiece "The House of the Devil" as a house-sitter who stumbles across much more than she signed up for, and her casting in "Insidious Chapter 2" will certainly help to elevate the film to exceptionally scary levels.
James Wan is returning to direct under his Blumhouse Entertainment banner, and Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Leigh Whannell, Barbara Hershey and more all star in the film, currently shooting in Los Angeles.
The film is aiming for a August 30 release date.
