Production for “The Walking Dead” Season 5 is underway, with shooting starting very soon. Just how soon are we talking? On Friday, MTV spoke with “The Walking Dead” comic book creator and show executive producer, Robert Kirkman, on the status of Season 5. Spoilers are ahead if you are not caught up to the walker apocalyptic series.
Fans were left with a major cliffhanger at the end of “The Walking Dead” Season 4. Although Rick seemed full of hope and determination to get out of Terminus, the odds of everyone making it out alive don’t look good. The fates of Carol, Tyreese, and Judith are also something that was left unanswered, as they have not yet reached Terminus. So how close are we to getting those answers? Even though the show will not be returning until sometime in October, Kirkman has given fans a quick status update on the new season.
“I just turned in the second episode script for Season 5,” he tells MTV. “All the writers are hard at work on their individual episodes. We’re pretty much halfway through the fifth season, script-wise.” Kirkman goes on to tease that they have nailed down the finale, Wet Paint reports. The back half episodes of Season 5 are also already planned out.
The source also shares that with the script being done by the end of summer, filming will begin this May! Personally, we can’t wait until photos from set and other spoilers leak, because the wait is killing us. Wet Paint previously spoiled that Carl’s brutal assault and the affect it had on Rick will not be forgotten in Season 5.
Will the biting-Joe’s-throat scenario be known by other survivors? How will Rick feel when he sees Carol, or his daughter alive? We can go on forever with questions, October can’t get here soon enough!
