If you are a fan of horror films, this may be the weekend you have been waiting for. Of the three major motion pictures opening in theaters across the country this weekend, the one that is easily getting the best reviews from critics is the horror film. However, if you love animated movies and are looking for a new film to take the family to, this weekend might also be for you. And you fans of Kevin Costner have something to look forward to as well.

Here are the movies opening April 11, 2014:

Oculus - Karen Gillan, Rory Cochrane, Katee Sackhoff. A decade ago a horrible tragedy befell the Russell when sibling, Tim, was accused of brutally murdering his parents. Tim is now out from an asylum, in his 20s, and he just wants to move on with his life. He returns to the home to find his sister, Kaylie, still struggling to get past the horrors of her childhood. Kaylie believes that something supernatural was the reason behind the deaths of her parents and she believes the evil power resides within an antique mirror that hung in their home at the time. The two siblings track down that mirror to confront the evil within and, hopefully, release themselves from the curse it has put upon them. Of the movies opening this week, this one is getting the best reviews saying it is truly creep and the performances are excellent. Rated R.

Draft Day - Kevin Costner, Jennifer Garner, Frank Langella. Costner plays the general manager of an NFL team as the titular Draft Day approaches. He is best on all sides by people who want him to make a decision about who his team will pick. When he trades for the number one pick in the draft, things heat up. Meanwhile, his personal life is crumbling as his obsession with creating the perfect football team threatens to overwhelm him. Critics have been harsh on this one saying that is strays too long and too much into sports movie cliches. Rated PG-13.

Rio 2 - Anne Hathaway, Andy Garcia, Jesse Eisenberg. After the first movie, the two birds Jewel and Blu have settled into domestic bliss with their kids. They decide that it's time for them to leave their home and head for a better life in the Amazon. Along the way they meet a whole host of strange creatures, all voiced by various celebrities. The movie is getting lukewarm reviews, at best, saying that this one will likely amuse young kids, but parents might find it a bit frustrating. Rated G.
