New Hess Tower is 30th tallest building in Houston


 
Hess Tower is a 29-story, Class A office building that was completed in May 2010 and is the 30th tallest building in Houston! Occupation of the skyscraper began in June. The property is located at 1501 McKinney Street, adjacent to Discovery Green Park, a $122 million, 12-acre public park in downtown Houston
The building feature two-stories of retail and restaurant space overlooking a landscaped arrival court and water garden.  A 10-story parking structure sits on the adjacent northern block that is connected to the tower via a pedestrian bridge.
The building is to be Gold LEED Certified for its sustainable design featuring 10 wind turbines on the roof to generate wind power, high efficiency glass, a green roof, water efficient landscaping and plumbing fixtures, storm water management, solar shading fins on the building's south elevation, and extensive use of natural light.
Trammell Crow Company is the developer, Principal Global Investors is its financial partner, Gilbane is the contractor and Gensler Global Architectural designed the building.
