October 1 is almost here.
And that means Obamacare goes into full effect.
If you are young and looking for work, good luck. If you have an established position and perhaps a pre-existing health condition, you are in a better situation.
Younger people will face an even harder struggle to find fulltime jobs because many companies will not allow their personnel to work more than 29 hours per week. If people work for a company more than 29 hours, the company must offer health insurance. Companies with fewer than 50 employees don't have to provide health insurance. Companies that employ fulltime workers and don't offer insurance must pay a $2,000 fine for every non-insured person they employ. And some companies may just pay the fine.
It is hard to say whether or not Obamacare will be a success. Some people will benefit but others will struggle.
"I hope Obamacare helps more people get health insurance. It is hard for people who don't have health insurance," said Madelyn Perez.
