Service was fully restored October 7th on Metro North's New Haven Line which lost power on September 25th when a substation at Mount Vernon, NY blew out. Power was lost for nine miles between Pelham and Rye. A combination of diesel Push-Pull trains and leased CT Transit buses were used to substitute the what would be all electric service. The Waterbury Branch is now Push-Pull sets again after having them temporarily removed and placed on the Main Line during the outage with Waterbury service using buses. All service is back to normal now.
Also this year the Meadowlands Express will not operate. The train operated for Giants Games last year between Rutherford, NJ, NY-Penn Station, Stamford, Bridgeport and New Haven and used a NJ Transit electric Push-Pull train. No mention why it is not running this year.
