New Hampshire politician under investigation for running over ducks with car

On December 23, 2013, New Hampshire representative David Campbell allegedly ran over a flock of ducks with his car because they wouldn't get out of the way, according to the Nashua Telegraph. Witness retired U.S. Marine officer James Murphy saw Campbell run down a group of ducks near the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nashua, NH. Police are investigating.

Murphy was feeding the ducks outside when he saw a car getting too close. Murphy claims the car was going about 15mph but never slowed down when it approached the ducks. He believes at least six ducks were crushed to death.

The Telegraph interviewed Campbell, who stated “I hit some ducks. Some people were feeding ducks on the driveway in front of the Crowne Plaza at 10 o’clock at night, and they didn’t move and I hit some ducks.”

During questioning with the Telegraph, Murphy stated he followed Campbell and confronted him about the ducks. He said Campbell seemed “indifferent” to killing them.
