New "GTA Online" mods have been revealed by several hackers. According to a report from Kotaku on Aug. 10 , a few members from the community was able to find a way to modify the multiplayer mode of "GTA 5." Among the hacks include the ability to pilot an unidentified flying object in addition to submerging the fictional Los Santos setting underwater.

Other players are doing something more sinister with the mods, however. A few hackers have found a way to use mind control on other "GTA Online" players. As a result, those who are affected won't be able to control their avatars. Instead, the hackers are able to have the characters perform any animation. A lot of these situations involve sexual acts, which may put Rockstar Games in legal trouble.

The publisher ran into a similar situation with "GTA: San Andreas." The prequel includes a "Hot Coffee" sex mini-game that was not part of the game. However, hackers were able to find a way to access it, causing a wave of controversy. Rockstar Games eventually have to released a new version as implementing a patch at that point in time was difficult due to online gaming not being mainstream. The company was also forces to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars as part of a settlement.

The newly-discovered mods in "GTA 5" should be easier to address for the development team. Rockstar North could release a patch to fix the exploits with "GTA Online," which requires an internet connection to access anyway. It is unknown when the next title update will be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, however.

The studio currently has several concurrent projects as new DLC packs (which are rumored to feature casinos and zombies) are currently in production while the team is also trying to push out the long-delayed multiplayer heists. Finally, "GTA 5" is also in development on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One with enhanced graphics and the ability to import "GTA Online" characters.
