New for Spring: Carhartt Rugged Cargo Shorts (Photos)

Now that we’re moisturized, deodorized, wearing socks, underwear, and an undershirt it is time to get one step closer to being publicly presentable by putting on some shorts. Normally, this is where most people would put on some pants, but that’s not happening here because A) I do not like pants all that much (except where required), and B) because it’s Spring and we live in California and it’s gorgeous outside most of the time, and even when it’s not, it’s not like it ever really gets so cold that you’d be in danger of losing an exposed limb to frostbite. I digress, however, because it’s time to introduce you to some brand-spanking new shorts just released from Carhartt.

First up is the Rugged Cargo Short (model #100277). Cut from 8 ounce 100% cotton ring-spun canvas, these shorts, with their triple-stitched seams, like all things from Carhartt, are built to last. Add to this solid foundation of canvas two gusseted cargo pockets, a cell phone pocket, a pen stall, two rear tab pockets with hidden snap closures and belt loops sewn on-seam, and you have a pair of shorts that are ready for just about anything.

These new shorts are part of an ever-expanding product line focused on bridging the gap between the more traditional double-front, dungaree-fit work pants that have “been a constant of the product range since it was first created” and streetwear meant for everyday use. The end result is a product that is rugged enough to handle the rigors of a blue-collar work day while being handsome and comfortable enough to be a part of your everyday existence. If you want to get yourself into a pair of these Rugged Cargo Shorts, you can do so by visiting the Carhartt website or by visiting one of these fine Bay Area Carhartt retailers:
