Hosted by Bill Rancic, first winner of NBC’s “The Apprentice”, the new series will take cooking to a new level. It is not just about how well the chefs can cook, but how lucky those chefs are as well.
With a $30,000 jackpot at stake, four chefs will compete in a casino-like competition using their skills, speed, and culinary knowledge. There will be three challenges themed after common casino games: slots, roulette, and poker. Each round will be judged by prestigious chefs including Michael Chernow and Aliya Leekong.
How will the three challenge rounds work? That is where the competition gets interesting. The slot machine round will have chefs spinning to display three categories that must motivate the dishes they prepare. The roulette round will have the chefs using the same protein; however, the kitchen will spin like a roulette wheel leaving chefs with a different chef’s station. The poker round will give the chefs ingredients depending on the cards they are dealt. Each round will eliminate one chef until the last chef standing wins the prize.
