South African Doctor, Sonnet Ehlers has developed a new female condom called Rape-aXe; 30,000 of the condoms are currently being distributed in South African cities where World Cup games are being held.
Rape aXe is inserted into a woman like a tampon, jagged teeth-like hooks line the inside, and grab onto a penis upon penetration. The condom causes severe pain and it can only be surgical removed by a doctor. Ehlers hopes that police will also be contacted when a man comes into an emergency room with one on.
"It hurts, he cannot pee and walk when it's on," she said. "If he tries to remove it, it will clasp even tighter... however, it doesn't break the skin, and there's no danger of fluid exposure."
Ehlers said that she got the idea 40 years ago when a rape victim told her that she wished she had “teeth down there”. Ehlers is currently giving away 30,000 of the condoms, and plans to sell them for $2 each after the World Cup testing period. She sold her house and car to develop the condom.
"I consulted engineers, gynecologists and psychologists to help in the design and make sure it was safe," she said.
More women are raped in South Africa than almost anywhere else in the world. Dr. Ehlers hopes that new of this condom will discourage men from even attempting to rape a woman.

What a device, this should be sold world wide ... If you are going commit rape then you deserve the pain such a device would inflict. Women already have pepper spray and stun guns so why not this for close quarter combat.

Thing about this is, rapists are already violent criminals. The mentality of a rapist is so depraved in fact I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he or she would kill their victim in a form of payback for their discomfort.
What's to keep a woman from using this device on a boyfriend/husband whom she suspects cheated on her, or hurt her (emotionally) really bad?

This sounds ideal, but it won't work in the long run. Rapists will either stick a blunt or sharp object up there first, or they'll resort to anal sex.

I agree with Mr. Reason, this repaying a cheating husband/boyfriend is not worth it what's so ever. Just was the F*ck away. It's not worth it at all. It will hurt but in the long run, the cheater will suffer from their lost.
As for Patrict's comment, Wow, that was a good point. Now that a sex offender / rapist is knows this information about the female condom, they may try just that what Patrict mentioned and the women will be doomed.
As for what I have to say, that's an excellent idea because too many rapes and rapist are getting away with their crimes. Too many innocent women, boys and girls have been raped or attempted victims of rape. In my opinion, Any sick bastard with such a cruel mind deserve the ultimate punishment. It's too bad that this device doesn't do more damage so that the rapist will NEVER, EVER, RAPE AGAIN. Now, that's my harsh opinion.
