Horror fans have been blessed recently with an influx of feature-length documentaries about classic slasher franchises. His Name was Jason took lovers of the Friday the 13th series behind the scenes of the Jason Voorhees universe, while the excellent Never Sleep Again deconstructed the Freddy Kreuger mythos. But the granddaddy of them, John Carpenter's Halloween, seemed to get lost in the shuffle.
Fortunately, fans of Michael Myers no longer have to be left out in the cold. Just in time for its titular holiday, A&E's Biography Channel has obtained broadcast rights for Phil Noble's Halloween: The Inside Story, which will examine the history and cultural impact of this seminal slasher, the movie that arguably invented modern horror.
All of the franchise's major surviving players appear in the feature-length documentary to give their perspective on, and remembrances of, the series. Participants include writer/director John Carpenter; actresses Jamie Lee Curtis, PJ Soles, and Danielle Harris; actor/stuntman Nick Castle, director of photography Dean Cundey; and filmmakers Rick Rosenthal, Tommy Lee Wallace, and Rob Zombie, who between them directed many of the Halloween sequels.
The documentary will air only once: October 28th, at 9pm EST. Set your DVRs now! It would be a tragedy to miss the night HE came home.

That sounds rather exciting. A doc about the making of Halloween, I hope they do more docs on cult films
Good news. I'll definitely set my DVR to record A & E's documentary of "Halloween." John Carpenter deserves some attention for the movie franchise and its work within the horror genre, let alone kickstarting the careers of so many Hollywood actors and filmmakers.
