Gospel’s newest must-hear family collective The Showers wowed audiences at multiple key events during the 2014 Stellar Awards weekend just days before their newest single "Better" is set to storm iTunes on January 28th. First spotted as a featured act on Urban Soul Café’s hotly anticipated ‘Access Granted: Homecoming, The Black Out Edition’, The Showers’ spirited showing of their new inspirational number quickly became one of the night’s highlights. A feat repeated by their fiery performance at the Cedric Bailey-hosted Radio Showcase Reception, The Showers continued to make a splash with audiences filled with industry professionals and taste makers to media executives and the like. Enchanting crowds with their decoratively layered harmonies and energetic stage presence, the group took their praise-party, with rousing reception from onlookers, to the Yes Lord Radio 2014 Anniversary Showcase. There, they imparted yet another show-stopping presentation of their newest number "Better". The tune’s touching narrative of empowerment and improvement through Christ – accented by the group’s soulful harmonies – resonates with audiences in ways that moves and behooves listeners to simply want to follow suit. Produced by Deon Kipping, ‘Better’ beams as the official second single from the group’s long-awaited national debut project due mid-2014.
About The Showers
Comprised of ten real life siblings, The Showers are the latest family collective to take the gospel music scene by storm. Quickly likened to the genre’s prized family acts The Winans, The Hawkins, and more, the Louisiana natives first gained notoriety aboard the success of their top-selling 2009 independent debut album Hear My Prayer. Going on to land the group top industry honors from ‘Rhythm of Gospel’ to ‘En-Sound’ Awards, the album also courted acclaim from some of entertainment’s most endeared critics. Their highly anticipated, self-titled follow-up album, due in 2014, will act as the group’s national debut. Led by the empowerment anthem “Praise Your Way Through”, featuring production from Bruce Robinson, Jr. and vocal production from Grammy® award winner Myron Butler (Tamela Mann, Marvin Sapp) and Shawn Willis, the song made its way through to the Top 30 on the Mediabase Gospel Songs Chart with an accumulative listening audience of over 1 million ears shortly after being christened Bobby Jones’ October “Power Pick of the Month”.
