Fun things are happening in Lexington. In addition to the St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 16th the Explorium of Lexington is opening a new exhibit. It will be a great place to make a rest stop during all the wonderful downtown fun this weekend.
The Banfield Animal Hospital will be opening a new Animal Hospital at the Explorium as an exhibition at the interactive children's museum. The Explorium is having the grand opening of the exhibit Saturday, March 16, 2013. It will have activities for all ages so the whole family can enjoy the day while learning about what it takes to be a veterinarian.
The fun will start at 11 a.m. with balloon animal activities. Throughout the day other activities including face painting, a howl and meow contest and more will be going on. At 1:30 p.m. a real Banfield veterinarian will be a Future Vet program. So make plans to stop in and join the fun and support this wonderful, interactive, educational exhibit. Children can have fun and explore an incredible career at the same time.
The Explorium of Lexington first opened its doors in 1990, as the Lexington Children's Museum. It was renamed in 2005. The museum has a large number of interactive exhibits and educational programs to create and foster the creative curiosity of the youth of not only Lexington but surrounding areas as well. They have permanent exhibits that teach children about healthy foods, cultural difference of people around the world and they even have a flight simulator. The new exhibit, the Animal Hospital will foster children to think about the nature of keeping pets healthy and happy.
Private donations and grants fund the development of exhibits that are made available to the public. They host a variety of programs for our youth ranging from art exhibits to programs like the Wilderness Road Girl Scouts each year. They have youth camp activities as well as parenting classes that are available. The Explorium of Lexington offers activities that are both educational and exciting for children of all ages.
