New exhibit: 'Andy Burgess, Paper City' at U of A Museum of Art (Video)

The new temporary exhibit "Andy Burgess, Paper City" opens at the University of Arizona Museum of Art on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. This exhibit features some of Andy Burgess' collage artwork that he describes as Pop Geometry style art. The exhibit is expected to remain on display through April 14, 2013.

In his Paper City collages, Andy Burgess uses a lot of pieces cut from vintage materials to reference the advertising and graphic design of the 1930s to 1960s. The shapes cut from these materials are used to create collages that resemble cities including famous skylines like New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco.

The exhibit will have an opening reception with an informal artist talk on Thursday, January 17, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
