The 19th annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is one of the most popular events that takes place at Walt Disney World. This year, the festival will take place Sep. 19 – Nov. 10. Many of the events are returning, such as Party for the Senses, Food and Wine Pairings and Cheese Seminars. However, there are also new events that are sure to be hits. Take a look at what’s new.
Dining Through the Decades, A Tribute to Walt Disney
Taking place on Friday, Oct. 24, this evening event is a celebration of the life and creativity of Walt Disney. Attendees will enjoy sampling some of Walt’s favorite meals at interactive cooking stations. Wines that have a special Disney connection will be served.
Eat to the Beat Dining Packages
On select nights, guests can enjoy a meal and a concert. The package include appetizer, entree, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage or one full buffet and guaranteed seating at the Eat to the Beat concert on that particular day. Guests will be notified of their concert show time at the restaurant.
Restaurants include Biergarten Restaurant, Coral Reef Restaurant, The Garden Grill Restaurant, La Hacienda de San Angel, Les Chefs de France, Nine Dragons Restaurant, Restaurant Marrakesh, Rose and Crown Pub and Dining Room, San Angel Inn, Teppan Edo, Tokyo Dining, Tutto Italia Ristorante and Via Napoli Ristaurante e Pizzeria.
Prices range from $34.99 – $69.99 for adults (ages 10 and up) and $12.99 – $28.99 for children (ages 3 – 9).
Epcot Food and Wine Late Nights LIVE
This new event is an after-hours party that will take place on Tuesday and Thursday nights in the World Showcase between the Showcase Plaza and the United Kingdom Pavilion. Guests will receive six complimentary items from several of the Food and Wine Marketplaces. There will be entertainment, including musical performances and a live DJ.
Epcot Food and Wine Premium Package
Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin and Golden Oak residents can take part in this special package available Monday through Thursday. The package includes an in-room gift bag with a selected wine, festival wine glass, truffles and Premium Package Area credential; Food and Wine Festival Magic Band and $50 gift card; access to Premium Package Areas areas located around the World Showcase promenade. Guests will be able to order select Marketplace items without having to wait in line and admission to one Epcot Food and Wine Late Nights LIVE event.
The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival – Boot Camp Series
On select Sundays at the World ShowPlace Events Pavilion, guests can attend an interactive boot camp. Attendees have a sharpen their culinary skills and learn some new ones. Some of the classes include Food and Wine Pairing 101 and Pickling 101.
Sunday Mornings with…
Sunday Mornings with… has replaced Sweet Sundays. Guests will enjoy a plated brunch accompanied by freshly baked breakfast breads and sparkling wine. The hosting chef will create three of their favorite desserts and guests will have the opportunity to sample them. Hosting chefs include Alex Guarnaschelli of Butter Restaurant, Gale Gand of TRU and SpriitzBurger and Carla Hall of ABC’s The Chew.
Food For Thought
Kitchen Memories is being replaced this year with Food For Thought. Guests will enjoy three menu items from the hosting chef’s cookbook while hearing the stories of foods being offered. Guests will also learning expert tips and techniques. Hosting chefs include Robert Irvine, Andrew Zimmern, Cat Cora and Jamie Deen.
Italian Truffle Dinner
The Italian White Truffle Lunch has been such a success, Disney has added the Italian Truffle Dinner. Attendees will enjoy a variety of regional Italian cuisine paired with wines. Each dish will be prepared with imported white truffles.
Mediterranean Food & Wine Pairing
Guests have been able to take part in food and wine pairings in France, Italy, Japan and Morocco. This year, Mediterranean has been added. The menu will feature food from the land and sea, paired with select wines.
