New Eric Clapton album features guest spot by Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney has a featured role on the new Eric Clapton album “Old Sock” due out in March, the guitarist announced Tuesday.

McCartney is featured on bass and vocals on “All of Me,” which a release describes as “a stand out playful collaboration.”

“Old Sock” will be released March 12 on Clapton’s Bushbranch label, distributed through a new collaboration with Surfdog Records in the U.S. and Canada, and released by Polydor Records in the rest of world. The album is described as a collection of some of Clapton’s favorite songs spanning from his childhood to present day from Leadbelly to J.J. Cale; Peter Tosh to George Gershwin; Hank Snow to Gary Moore and Taj Mahal.

The album's band features Steve Gadd on drums, Willie Weeks on bass and Chris Stainton on keyboards. Guests in addition to McCartney include JJ Cale on guitar and vocals on “Angel,” Chaka Khan on vocals on “Get On Over,” Steve Winwood on Hammond B3 organ on “Still Got The Blues” and Jim Keltner on drums for “Our Love is Here To Stay.”
