What is your favorite Fall activity? For me, it’s the “Big E”, when New England gathers in West Springfield, Massachusetts, for the biggest and best agricultural fair in the Northeast. There is so much to do. Like other ag fairs, the Big E has swine races, butter sculptures, and tractor sales. For me, I enjoy eating and drinking my way through the New England states. Where else can you have a loaded baked potato from Maine, cheddar cheese from Vermont and a lobster roll from Rhode Island all on one tank of gas? If time travel interests you, visit Storrowtown Village for an authentic Colonial feel. At every turn there is a stage with scheduled performances every day. Get ahead of yourself and start Christmas shopping among hundreds of local skilled artisans. The Midway has rides and carnival games for the young and the young at heart. It’s a fun day trip or you can park your RV in Gate 9 Lot and stay overnight. This year, the Big E takes place from September 13 to 29. Visit www.thebige.com for more details.
