Things are heated in the world of Tamriel as three alliances converge on the weakened and Daedra worshiping empire. What Zenimax Studios and company asks of us with this latest trailer uploaded to the official Zenimax YouTube channel just earlier today, is what alliance will we fall in line with?
It has always been a hallmark of the Elder Scrolls series to allow the player to think for themselves and make their own decisions, similar to how there is no one "truth," as the man in the trailer puts it, when discerning good and evil in-game.
Why does this matter? Well for one, players love customization and expression in the form of picking classes, stats, magics, armors and weapons, etc. So to add to this expression, we now have the ability to pledge allegiance (and perhaps feign allegiance as well?) to a specific dominion, which for lack of a better term, is totally badass and engrossing.
What this also provides for us as a player in the realm of Tamriel is a dynamic gameplay experience. Already promised to us previously is large scale 100+ players battles and skirmishes, along with world changing decisions made by the community.
It's additions such as these that prompt a long lasting community and encourage players to think for themselves. And with the addition of a third alliance, instead of the black and white setup of other MMOs such as World of Warcraft, there definitely seems to be a bit more leeway in terms of what players see as "right" and "wrong."
It's an interesting take on the MMOverse and one that is sure make a few waves come its release later this year. In the meantime, be sure to subscribe to Dalton on Examiner for more gaming news, reviews, and more.
