The first day of the year is also the first DVD release of 2013. Below are some of the best releases of the week.
- "Looper"
- "Justified Season Three"
- "Cosmopolis" (This is a David Cronenberg film who did "Scanners" and the remakes of "The Fly" movies). It also stars Robert Pattinson.
- "I Dream of Jeannie: 15 Years Later"
- "War of the Dead" (Review)
- Being Human Season Two
There are also many vintage DVDs released. These are from the 30s, 40s, also a few from the 50s. I will cover them in my "Golden Age Of Hollywood" column.
Also released are many older films to VOD (Video on Demand). Most of these are $2.99 for one viewing. However, there are several that are $1.99.
VOD is a good way to watch films, you get all of the benefits of DVDs and none of the downside such as late fees.
Most of the films released this week are available in standard DVD and also Blu-ray.
