New Dragon's Crown trailer flaunts gameplay.

News on Vanillaware's much anticipated first HD title, Dragon's Crown, has been sparse to say the least. For a game announced going on two years ago there has been startlingly little information about it made public, but the occasional video from the developer has been just enough to assure its anxious public that, yes, they're still working on it.

One such video saw release earlier today, and considering that a decent chunk of it is dedicated to actual gameplay it seems a safe assumption that the title is on track for the admittedly nebulous "sometime this year" release date. From the look of things, Vanillaware hasn't lost its penchant for faux-stop motion animation, flashy effects, or heaving mammaries, and it's doubtful its established fanbase will take issue with any of this.

Considering the substantial amount of actual gameplay shown here, those rumors about an August release are looking pretty feasible. Still, with no official word, we're forced to wait for an official statement from Vanillaware or publisher Atlus to be certain.
