With Dragon Age: Inquisition scheduled to release later in 2014, Bioware alerted fans that they would begin to show off more aspects of the game once the new year had begun. Keeping their word, the developer took to the official Dragon Age Twitter account on Jan 7 to give fans their first look at a new location found in the upcoming game as depicted by official concept art for the third installment of the popular role-playing franchise.

Showing off a mysterious structure rising out of a pool of water, the concept piece was accompanied with the following quote, “Here lies the abyss, the well of all souls. From these emerald waters doth life begin anew.” The meaning of the quote is unknown at this time but will likely become clear once Dragon Age: Inquisition is released and gamers can visit the locale inside the game.

Adding more intrigue to the image, the artwork was also posted to the game’s Facebook page later the same day which added the following continuation of the strange quote, “And thus was mighty Arlathan cast down, its people swallowed by darkness – never to rise again.”

Dragon Age: Inquisition launches later this year on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. Fans can expect to learn many new details pertaining to the upcoming release as General Manager of Bioware Edmonton and Montreal Aaryn Flynn recently revealed that the developer plans to begin unveiling many new aspects for the title in the coming months.
