Northampton Community College (NCC), the only community college in Pennsylvania that offers on-campus housing for students, is breaking ground on new residence hall.
The new building under construction will house an additional 300 people, and be erected next to the current dorm which currently holds 260 students.
This new residence hall will connect to the older one; by adding another building with two wings, makes the current student housing a quad with food court, full-service cafeteria, and patio featuring courtyard space for activities.
The facility was designed by USA Architects of NJ and will be constructed by the J.G. Petrucci Co. of Bethlehem. The building is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2015.
With additional on-campus housing, NCC can welcome more international students, and it also enhances the athletic programs and student life.
