"Doctor Who" fans, there are exactly two weeks until this year's Christmas special, "The Time of the Doctor," and on Wednesday, Dec. 11, BBC America released the latest trailer teasing Matt Smith's final episode as the Doctor.
This year's "Doctor Who" Christmas special will see Smith's Doctor regenerate and introduce Peter Capaldi (who was very briefly seen in the 50th anniversary special). The massed forces of the universe's deadliest species gather, orbiting a quiet, backwater planet, all drawn to a mysterious message echoing out to the stars, and the Doctor is among them. He rescues Clara (Jenna Coleman) from a family Christmas dinner, and they must discover what the signal means for not only the Doctor's fate, but also for the fate of the universe.
The latest "The Time of the Doctor" trailer to the left is mostly about the Doctor's upcoming regeneration, and it begins with, "And now it's time for one last bow/like all your other selves/Eleven's hour's over now/clock is striking twelve's." Watch the promo to get a glimpse at Cybermen, the Silence, Weeping Angels, and Daleks, as well as tease after tease about the end of Eleven's time. There's a trap for the Time Lord, the Dalek exclamation that the Doctor is regenerating, explosions, excitement, and more. Plus, check out the slideshow for 20 photos from the special.
