Stout Sports Bar & Grill is an Irish inspired tavern that opened last March, 2012. This summer, Stout's is adding some elegant new dishes that will no doubt keep the Happy Hour crowd very happy. Ladies who stop by after work for some adult beverages will be able to enjoy lighter items such as Shrimp and Avocado Ceviche topped with bits of tomatoes and lightly sprinkled with a lemon ponzu. The Bruschetta includes marinated tomatoes and goat cheese with splashes of olive oil and served with crunchy parm crisps. My favorite is the Scallop Risotto which sits on a bed of risotto and asparagus. The Chicken Marsala is moist and tender and is covered with a luscious creamy mushroom sauce that is served with red skin mash and grilled asparagus. A soupcon of lemon beurre blanc makes the dish tangy and tasty. These new "tapas" style additions to the menu, pair perfectly with some excellent cocktails such as the Paddy's Irish Apple pie created with apple fresh lemon juice, honey syrup and dash of orange liquor.
As you would expect the place offers 80 different varieties of Scotch, 60 different beers, 20 draft beers and a big selection of Irish favorites such as Bangers & Mash, ($13), Fish & Chips, ($13), Calf's Liver & Onions, ($15), Shepherd's Pie, ($14), and Corned Beef & Cabbage, ($13).
Chef Charlie Miller makes sure that each dish is authentic, fresh and flavorful. He said, "Don't be scared off by the Bar & Grill aspect outside. There's a lot more to the place than what you see from the outside and the food's good too." I concur...food there is yummy.
With over 40 HDTV screens and all sorts of sports packages available for their VIP clients, sports enthusiasts can indulge at the 60-foot long hammered copper bar while drinking up a pint or two. Stout's kitchen is open 7 days a week until midnight with extended hours at the bar until the wee hours.
