Late Tuesday night news broke that 2014 WWE Hall of Famer and professional wrestling icon the Ultimate Warrior had passed away. The Warrior appeared at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, Wrestlemania 30, and Monday Night Raw. He was 54 years old.
TMZ.com is reporting that Warrior collapsed while walking with his wife from their Arizona hotel sometime around 7:50 p.m. central time. Warrior was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.
Warrior had returned to the WWE after an 18 year absence and rebuilt a bridge that seemed to be burned.
Fellow 2014 Hall of Fame inductee Jake Roberts, who had gone back and forth with Warrior over the years, said, "Deeply saddened. We just had a great talk & buried a senseless hatchet. Talked working together. RIP Warrior. Taking solace we made peace."
Kevin Nash and Warrior had been entrenched in a war of words over the years to the point where Nash challeged Warrior to a public fight were the proceeds would go to charity. Nash stated, "So happy I embraced Warrior with a hug when we saw each other backstage Saturday night. My heart goes out to his family. Always Believe."
The specific cause of Warrior's death will likely not be clear until an autopsy report is released. Warrior is survived by his wife Dana and two daughters Indy and Mattigan.
