Some new details emerged on Tuesday Jan. 29 about the Liberty Ross and Rupert Sanders divorce.
According to Splash News, Liberty and Rupert's relationship was on a downward spiral since the famous cheating scandal involving Kristen Stewart. However, Liberty, 34, tried to make it work and get over her husband's affair by going to marriage counseling, but she just couldn't do it.
Liberty ultimately ended the 10-year marriage for the "sake of her own happiness," because she couldn't forgive Rupert, 41, for his infidelity. She also couldn't get over the public humiliation she endured after the affair was publicized all over the world.
Filing her petition in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, Liberty reportedly requested joint custody of the children as well as spousal support. Rupert filed his response on the same day, asking for joint custody as well.
Meanwhile, Rupert's former cheating flame, Kristen, has somewhat reconciled with her own boyfriend, Robert Pattinson. But, rumors that the "Twilight" couple is also having problems are surfacing as well.
Robert has gone off to Australia alone to film his next movie, "Rover," and he reportedly told Kristen he needs a break and asked her not to visit him on set.
